Our
history

Inspired by collaborative models developed around the world, especially the asian models in which consortiums stimulate small and medium-sized company exports, Grupo Nutresa established C.I. Nutrading, through which it will contribute to the country’s export development given its knowledge, capabilities and experience in internationalization processes.

C.I. Nutrading was designed to be an ally for Colombian companies and to change the export dynamics in Colombia, facilitating access to commercial networks and clients abroad with international logistics and capacity development.

Internationalization trajectory

1960

Since 1960, Grupo Nutresa has made progress in its internationalization plan.

2000

In 2000, Grupo Nutresa drafted a new strategic plan which defined the internationalization process as a key and critical objective for the development of its business model and its sustainable growth.

This included the definition of a strategic region and the identification of markets in which it could be competitive, as well as the articulation of a strategy for reaching each market.

Grupo Nutresa’s internationalization model was initially leveraged through alliances and the creation of trading companies. Later, in the search for greater effectiveness and more ambitious objectives, an acquisition plan was initiated as a strategic vehicle to being a relevant player in the countries of the region.

This internationalization model has been made a reality thanks to a team that values cultural differences and acts locally with a global vision, with the openness and humility necessary to face challenges.
